Celebration of World Environment Day: Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Patiala promotes Environmental Sustainability

Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Patiala joined hands with farmers and environmental enthusiasts to celebrate the World Environment Day with great enthusiasm. The event, held on June 5th, 2023 was aimed at raising awareness about environmental issues and promoting sustainable practices in agriculture for a greener future.

 

This function was attended by 53 farmers, rural youth and community members who shared their commitment to environmental conservation. The event featured various technical lectures to educate and engage participants in sustainable practices and highlight the importance of preserving ecosystems.

 

During this programme Dr. Rachna Singla, Professor (Horticulture) from KVK, Patiala addressed the audience, and made them aware regarding the challenges faced by our ecosystems and their potential solutions through restoration efforts. Dr. Rajni Goel, Assoc. Professor (FST) told the gathering that KVK Patiala is committed to promote sustainable agriculture and will continue to organize such initiatives in future also. Dr. Parminder Singh Asstt. Professor (AS) and Dr. Hardeep Sabhikhi, Asstt. Professor (PP) also addressed the gathering and motivated the farming community to adopt sustainable agricultural practices. During this function the participants along with the KVK experts also took a pledge to protect the environment and promote environmentally friendly habits among the community. Furthermore, fruit plants were distributed to the participants to encourage them towards a sustainable environment in future.

 

The celebration of World Environment Day was concluded by Dr. Gurnaz Gill, Asstt. Professor (PFE), KVK Patiala, by thanking all the participants and motivating them to take a collective action in preserving our planet.
