     The Punjab Government led by Chief Minister Mr. Bhagwant Mann will strengthen the GT Road to Chawa-Samrala Road via Roopa, Bagli, Dehru Road to fulfil the demand of the people of this area.

          Giving information, Punjab Public Works Minister Mr. Harbhajan Singh ETO said that it is a very important and busy road, which connects Khanna with Samrala constituency. He informed that the work on this road with an estimated cost of Rs 481.15 lakh will be started soon.

          The Public Works Minister said that the total length of this road is 4.40 km and the width is 5.50 meters. He said that this road connects GT Road (NH-44) and Chava-Samrala Road (ODR-56).

          He informed that this road has been approved under 5054 RB-10 scheme of the State Govt. and the project will include 5-year maintenance after completion. He said that the tender process has been started and the project will be completed in 6 months after the allotment of the tender.

          The Minister further said that the Punjab government is continuously working to improve the infrastructure in the state. He said that a special plan has also been made to further strengthen the roads connecting the rural areas with the cities of Punjab.
